As of 10 am tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd of May, the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow hot weather warning for the whole of the island. This will remain in place until midnight on the 25th, however, the island is set to experience hot weather until the 30th of May, due to east winds carrying warm dry air from North Africa.
Maximum temperatures should reach between 24°C and 29ºC, with minimums varying between 16°C and 20ºC.
Mountainous regions will suffer moderate to strong winds, with gusts up to 70 km/h.
