The Funchal City Council (CMF), will proceed with the construction and improvement of eighteen bus stops within the municipality.
In a press note, CMF official, Bruno Martins stated that “this is a municipal investment of around €40,000 with the work taking place over the next three months, covering the parishes of São Gonçalo, Monte and Santo António. Apart from the construction of new bus shelters, the work will include the repair, renovation and re-painting of existing bus stops to improve conditions for public transport users.”
Bruno Martins concluded by saying that “the objective is to create an inclusive city with regards to the use of public spaces, and that the creation and renovation of bus shelters will directly improve the capital’s public transport system, something that the Municipality always intends to promote.”
