A kitten was found close to death in Funchal this morning, an apparent victim of abuse. The Madeira Sanctuary Association who rescued the animal says that his condition is “dire.” “Teco has two broken back legs, a mouth wound, and an eye infection. We are doing our best, and like others, he has fallen into the wrong hands.”

In an emotional video, the visibly distressed and exhausted volunteer who rescued Teco begs people to stop doing this. The association is a non-profit organisation who cannot afford to bear the veterinary expenses of Teco and others like him, who are in such desperate need of help.
