Lifting Restrictions Has Had No Negative Impact

The first countries in Europe to lift lockdown restrictions last month have continued to record fewer cases of infection. However, these countries were the least affected by the pandemic due to their government’s swift response.

The four countries: the Czech Republic, Austria, Denmark and Norway were the first in Europe to lift some of the limitations imposed to control the Covid-19 epidemic, such as re-opening small businesses, creches, and easing restrictions on movement. Moreover, in the case of the Czech Republic, mask-wearing was and is mandatory as soon as you step outside your front door.

A month later and these four countries are listed between 18th and 23rd places on the World Health Organisation (WHO) European Continent list.  Portugal is currently laying in 11th place.
