The Parliamentary Group of the PS-Madeira, presented today at the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, a draft resolution recommending that the Regional Government grants a Social Mobility Subsidy to all those travelling between Madeira and Porto Santo this year.
Deputy Miguel Brito declared that Porto Santo with its double insularity and tight tourism window is suffering due to the crisis, especially with regards to tourism, and needs additional aid to help its small economy to survive.
This way, through the attribution of a year-round the Social Mobility Subsidy to Madeiran residents traveling to Porto Santo including July, August and September, would provide a basis and stimulus to the islands small local economy. Furthermore, this and other measures need to be taken to guarantee the well-being of all people of the Porto Santo.
The proposal was agreed unanimously.
