The population of the Ribeiro Real Housing Complex are up in arms about the containment fence preventing them from shopping at their nearest supermarket, located in Vargem, an area bordering the parish of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos.
Since the state of emergency, many residents have used this commercial establishment because its easy to get to; however, the new containment fence prevents them from walking for a few hundred yards to do their shopping forcing them to shop within the town centre. Many of the residents are up in arms as they will now have to have pay to use a taxi as no public transport is serving the area.
For this reason, they have appealed to the authorities to look at the situation and make life easier for them. As they say, they do not ask for much “just that the barrier is repositioned to allow them to shop more easily.”
