Masks Mandatory in Some Sectors

 
 
 

The good news is that no new cases have been recorded in Madeira or Porto Santo today.

Miguel Albuquerque announced this evening that the masks which will be delivered to all homes in the region will become mandatory for both some professional activities and for people for the foreseeable future. 

For the sake of security he stressed. There will be gradual return of economic activities and resumption of work activity such as civil construction and activities with greater interpersonal contact.

With regards to schools, the President reiterated that there will be no ‘face to face’ classes until the virus has been eradicated and confirmed that the RTP – School channel will be up and running for years 10, 11 and 12 from the 20th of April.  Lessons will start at 9 am and finish at 1 pm.  Way behind other schools, as colleges in Prague have already been teaching students for the past two weeks via electronic means.

The airport, he said will not re-open soon, however, there will be a restricted number of flights to the region.
