In compliance with the provisions of article 6 of Decree no. 2-B / 2020, of 2 April, the Representative of the Republic of
Madeira informs the population of Madeira and Porto Santo:
That “from 00.00 hours on April 9th (Wednesday to Thursday) and until midnight on the 13th (Monday to Tuesday), no one can leave the limits of the municipality of their usual residence, by any means, except for health reasons and emergencies, as permitted by Decree No. 2-B / 2020, of April 2nd. All those travelling must have a certificate from their employer proving they have a legal right to travel.
During this period there will be no passenger flights to the archipelago or between Madeira and Porto Santo. Likewise, the Porto Santo ferry will only operate between Madeira and Porto Santo to transport goods and merchandise. No passenger tickets will be sold for this time.
Failure to comply with these temporary regulations and the orders of the security authorities carrying out their duties, constitutes a crime of disobedience, punishable under the terms of paragraph b) of paragraph 1 of article 348 of the Penal Code, as well as article 7. of Law No. 44/86, of 30 September.
