The Regional Government’s decision to mandatory quarantine all arrivals to the island in Quinta do Lorde, resident or not, will be formalised today. The move comes after reports that UK arrivals to the island were met by friends and family with no thought for the new safety regulations in place. As such, the President has decided that more robust measures need to be enforced.
Passengers who arrived this morning are not yet subject to the mandatory measure.
Also this morning, the President revealed his socio-economic support that members of the Madeiran Executive have recently prepared to help Madeiran families and companies during the crisis.
So far, there are eight confirmed Covid-19 cases in Madeira.
