Madeira in Isolation

After the closure of the ports, Madeira is preparing to ban all air connections to countries with positive Covid-19 cases. Temperature control measures were already implemented at airports yesterday, and the mandatory completion of an epidemiological survey is underway.  The president of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, also announced that the Government will provide 75 million euros to help companies and strengthen public health facilities.

University students returning to the Region must remain in isolation for the full period. At the same time, psychologists recommend those confined use social media as a way to stay in contact with their friends, thus reducing their anxieties.

There have also been calls to suspend the Porto Santo ferry during Easter due to low demand.
