The new Pestana hotel project ”Pestana CR7 Gran Vía Madrid,’ the first hotel outside Portugal, was presented this week.
Built-in the 1920s the hotel’s refurbishment will cost around 15 million euros. Located in one of the main arteries of the Spanish capital, the hotel will have 168 rooms, as well as a sports bar, restaurant, rooftop with panoramic views over the city, swimming pool and gym. With comfort in mind, each floor will be inspired by sporting values which will be apparent in the hotel’s decor.
During a brief announcement, the Chief Development Officer PHG (Pestana Hotel Group), José Roquette said that “it is with pride that the internationalisation of the Pestana CR7 Lifestyle Hotels has become a reality in Madrid. After the success achieved in Portugal, with two hotels in Lisbon and Funchal, the brand will also expand this year into New York (Pestana CR7 West Side) and Morocco (Pestana CR7 Marrakesh). Over the next three years, the group will develop its international profile further with hotels in both Manchester (2021) and Paris (2023).
The partnership between Cristiano Ronaldo and the Pestana Hotel Group started in 2016, and together they are seen as pioneers in the hotel sector, reinforcing the leadership and innovation position of the Pestana Hotel Group.
