On the 31st of January, the Universidade Aberta in partnership with Câmara de Lobos City Council, ADEGI, Association for the Development of Global and Island Studies, CLEPUL – Madeira and Xarabanda will be holding a local history seminar on “The Devil, Witches and Madeiran superstitions.”
The event will take place at the Museu de Imprensa and has a wide range of speakers will be discussing their most recent investigations into the islands belief systems and superstitions. The conference will open with a speech from invited speaker; Professor Doutor Manuel Curado. With other speakers including Father José Luís Rodrigues, Rita Rodrigues, Luísa Paolineli, Manuel Pedro Freitas, Bruno Costa, Paulo Perneta, Rui Camacho and Lídia Araújo.
