A 65-year-old Englishwoman was seriously injured after falling in the Lido area.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon, where the woman suffered facial contusions, a fractured nose and haemorrhaging. On arrival, the Portuguese Red Cross team found the woman conscious, but in pain. She was quickly taken to the Dr Nélio Mendonça Hospital with suspected brain injuries.
