New Hospital Will Have 607 Beds

The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, will present the ‘Functional Programme of the new Central Hospital’ tomorrow at 11.30 in the Noble Hall of the Regional Government Building.

During the presentation the President of Madeira will discuss the new hospital, which will have a 607-bed capacity and cost in the region of 352 million euros. Also, the government has said that it is to begin evaluating and analysing all the construction proposals tendered for the new hospital.

The presentation of the Functional Programme will be attended by the Vice-President of the Regional Government, Pedro Calado, the Regional Equipment and Infrastructure and Health and Civil Protection Secretaries, Pedro Fino and Pedro Ramos, respectively, as well as the architect responsible for the design of the new health unit, Ilídio Pelicano.
