Bordal – Embroideries of Madeira are recreating the Madeiran Christmas spirit with an Exhibition of ‘Christmas Embroidery Tables’.
In its press release, the company states that “everyone is invited to admire the themed Christmas Embroidery Tables. Four tables are inspired by the islands natural heritage: Flowers, Laurissilva, Levadas and the Sea. While the remaining four pay homage to Madeira’s traditional economy: Bananas, Cana do Açúcar, Wicker and Madeira Wine.’
The exhibition officially opens today in the Noble Hall of the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre. The show is open to the general public from tomorrow, the 13th of December until the 4th of January 2020.
Bordal – Embroideries of Madeira was founded on the 10th of March 1962 and has a factory and two factory shops. In 2014 the company created its factory ‘Madeira Embroidery Historical Route’ which is open to the public. This year, the company was distinguished and recognised as a ‘Shop with History’ by the Funchal City Council, and was the first Madeiran company to receive the Mercury Award – Best of Commerce and Services, in the Digital Economy Category.
