The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, admitted, in an interview that he intends to make the State Budget feasible, saying.
‘The members of the PSD-Madeira are at the service of the Region. Therefore, we are ready to talk and hold negotiations with the Republic to discuss the primary interests of Madeira.’
Regarding the possible feasibility of the State Budget, Albuquerque said: ‘We have every chance. As I said, our guiding principle is to ensure that Madeira’s interests and rights are safeguarded. To carry out this operation, Prime Minister António Costa must be willing to negotiate. If this happens we can find a way to resolve issues such as lowering interest rates, financing the hospital and possibly a new mobility scheme which is supported by the Republic.’
