The Madeira Whale Museum is celebrating National Sea Day from the 12th to the 22nd of November through reduced admission fees and several free initiatives.
Programme of events:
12th 15:00 Puppet Show – Pinocchio in the Belly of a Sperm Whale
14th 16:00 Inauguration of temporary exhibition ‘Whale Museum: Knowing the past and foreseeing the future.’
16th 10:30 ‘Behind the Scenes……..Take 6.’ Aims to raise greater awareness of the scientific work carried out at the Madeira Whale Museum. The session begins with the screening of the documentary ‘Discovering the Sea’, followed by a guided tour of the temporary, permanent exhibitions and the technical-scientific areas.
The museum’s activities end on the 22nd, with its ‘Help Turn the Tide’ event. There are two sessions. The morning session will consist of a beach cleaning activity at Ribeira do Natal and another in the afternoon at the Caniçal village beach.

And because November the 16th coincides with the third Saturday of the month, the museum is offering a 50% discount on all entries to the permanent exhibition between 10:00 and 14:00.
