Although there is still not much information on the subject, ‘Bedriven’s’ Facebook page is advertising for new TVDE drivers in Madeira.
For those interested, you need to have a category B driving licence (Minimum 3 years); Good command of English (preferred); TVDE training (required) and group 2 endorsement (required).
On checking the TVDE website, you can obtain your TVDE certification here in Madeira through Segurança Maxima – Escolas de Condução. The training course comprises of six modules, including communication and interpersonal skills, driving regulations, general driving, dealing with emergencies and first aid as well as other car/driving-related topics. The cost of the course in 2018 was €198.00.
TVDE applies to all passenger vehicles that are in effect known as a ‘service car which is paid for by passengers via an electronic platform,’ such as Uber Bolt (formerly Taxify), or Cabify Kapten (e.g. Chauffeur Privé).
