The Regional Civil Protection Service (SRPC) in conjunction with the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) is taking part in the ‘Terra Treme Initiative’ on the 15th at 11:15 am. The exercise aims to teach citizens three life-saving practices they should adopt during the event of an earthquake.
In a statement, the SRPC said their goal was to inform as many people as possible about what to do BEFORE, DURING and AFTER a seismic event. These include preventative measures, how to protect yourself and remain safe.
‘Terra Treme’ was first introduced in schools and businesses in 2016. The training is available to anyone interested, including companies and individuals. To take part or for further information, please visit or register your interest at http://www.aterratreme.pt/como-participar/
In 2018, 159,850 people from public organisations and companies as well as 512,679 school children attended the training course.
