Binter airline’s Marketing Director, Miguel Suarez has declared that the exorbitant €32.50 Airport Tax levied at Madeira airport is not charged at any other airport in the world, except for some countries in Africa.
The claim comes after the Spanish carrier commissioned a study from the University of Las Palmas to demonstrate the negative impact of these rates on Madeira’s economy.
Talking to journalists, Miguel stated that ‘We look forward to delivering this study to ANA and the regional authorities by the end of this month.’ And that he is disappointed that the relevant authorities have done nothing to remedy the situation.
Miguel Suarez, also confirms that the airlines stalled Funchal – Morocco route will start next year.
