CMF Promotes Animal Welfare Awareness in Schools

The Funchal City Council will start, from October 16, the 2nd cycle of awareness actions on animal welfare held in the basic schools of the county.

According to a press release from the municipality, the actions are aimed at students of the 4th year of basic education and are intended to make children aware of the basic care of pets, the accountability of owners, proper nutrition, among others. to ensure animal welfare.

Idalina Perestrelo, Vice-President of the Municipality, says that the first cycle of these lectures began last year and that “we reached over 500 students in 14 sessions. For the sake of the animal cause we want to sensitize more students for this reason we will repeat these initiatives that had a great acceptance by students and schools.

The veterinarian, in sensitization, will be accompanied by a dog to promote contact between children and animals.
