A Place in the Sun Visits Madeira

Filming for an episode of Channel Four’s ‘A Place in the Sun’ took place in Madeira this week.  The programme which has been running for nineteen years and presented by Jasmine Harman visited the Jasmin Tea House this afternoon.

Taking a short break from apartment and house viewing, the programmes filmmakers, presenter, and property hunter met up with British resident, Janet Ellison, on the tea house terrace to discuss many of the activities that take place for ex-pats on the island.  These include attending the English Church, performing in the Murder Mystery Group evenings at the Royal Savoy Hotel and even golf lessons to life on the island as a resident, as well as tips on how to become part of the local community.

Earlier in the morning, Jasmine posted pictures of herself on Instagram as she experienced the thrill of the island’s toboggans, having already said that she’d been longing to visit Madeira for a while!

Channel’s 4’s ‘A Place in the Sun’ airs weekdays at 3 pm.
