Transavia is not doing very well at the moment, not only did they leave an elderly passenger onboard a Paris to Porto flight, where she finally ended up in Madeira, the airline has yet again cancelled one of its scheduled flights to Madeira, for a second time this week. However, this could be in response to the problems experienced at Madeira’s International Airport due to wind conditions yesterday afternoon.
On the upside, TAP-Air Portugal has announced that it will soon be offering a daily connection from Porto to Madeira. In a statement, the airline has said that ‘In the case of Madeira, the flight will take place at noon using an Airbus 321LR.’ With this third option, the airline believes that Madeira will see a significant improvement in opportunities especially as TAP, via Porto, will be operating a Funchal – Porto- New York route. TAP promises that the layover times will be as short as possible and that the airline will be operating a genuinely executive experience all the way.
