Various entities from the islands Search and Rescue teams were involved in the search for the missing man and the recovery of the body including SANAS Madeira, Funchal’s Lifeguard Station, divers of the Forensic Diving Group and the Underwater Operations of the Madeira Detachment Maritime Police.

São Vicente and Porto Moniz Firefighters, as well as the Public Security Police,  were also involved in the search for the missing man since Saturday when the Civil Protection Service of Madeira received a distress call from the man’s stepfather.
