Lack of Interpreters in Hospitals Causing Difficulties

An announcement by the United Party of Retired Persons and Pensioners (PURP) says that a lack of Portuguese Sign Language Interpreters is causing significant problems in Portugal’s hospitals, as those suffering from impaired hearing or deafness find it difficult or are unable to communicate with health professionals.  And as party leader, Rafael Macedo rightfully states, those suffering hearing loss are still ‘real people’ and need to be listened to.
