They may be one of the world’s most ‘beautiful airlines’ and award winners at the World Travel Awards held in Madeira last weekend, but TAP suffered a slight set back this morning.
According to newspaper Correio da Manhã passengers on TP1272 scheduled for Vienna had to leave the aircraft because of a fuel spill at Humberto Delgado Airport, Lisbon, which was only discovered as passengers began boarding. They were then quickly asked to disembark, and several cleanup teams were called in to deal with the situation.
TAP also changed the aircraft to ensure that all safety protocols were met and the flight finally departed at 10.53.
The authorities are now investigating the incident.
