TAP- Air Portugal first commercial flight to Prague using their new Airbus A321 Long Range aircraft took place on Saturday 11th of May. The plane is TAP’s first narrow-bodied aeroplane that is capable of operating on transatlantic routes while offering all the comfort of a traditional wide-bodied long-haul aircraft. It ‘has sixteen ‘executive seats’ four of which are individual, while the onboard seating configuration is equivalent to that of the Airbus A330neo.
The A321LR can carry 168 passengers and is one of fourteen aircraft TAP have commissioned from Airbus. In a statement, TAP said that the new aircraft will enhance its mid and long-haul operations and that it is set to become the first airline in the world to operate both the Airbus A330neo and Airbus A321LR.
In a press statement, the company confirmed that they would receive a total of thirty-seven aircraft this year, with a total of seventy-one being delivered by 2025, making TAP one of the most modern fleets in the world.
