Bodies Flown Home to Germany

In a statement this morning, Pedro Ramos, the regional Secretary for Health, confirmed that the remaining eleven bodies of the victims of the bus tragedy which took place last month will be flown back to Germany this afternoon. He confirmed that transfer of the bodies began yesterday afternoon in compliance with Portuguese Law concerning the transportation of dead bodies.  The deceased are being flown to Germany by the Portuguese Air Force.
During a press conference during his visit to the Nazaré Health Centre, he took the opportunity to not only state the seriousness and respect that was needed to both those who had died and their relatives, but also to thank all those who had been involved in the tragedy especially the funeral agencies and health professionals who had worked through yesterday’s public holiday to ensure that everything ran smoothly.
The coach tour guide is still in hospital and her condition remains stable.
