Madeira’s first table wine, Atlantis, was launched in 1992. Now, twenty-seven years later this excellent wine has been re-branded with a new image, sleek elegant bottle and a new addition to the family; a 2017 Reserva Branco (White Reserve), which has already been referred to as a ‘very special wine’ by the Madeira Wine Company oenologist, Rui Reguinga.
The three Atlantis Wines, Atlantis Branco (Verdelho), the Atlantis Rosé (Tinta Negra) are 2018 harvests while the new Atlantis Reserva Branco (Verdelho) is from a 2017 harvest and all were presented at the Blandy Wine Lodge on the 4th of April. In his presentation speech, Chris Blandy stated that the company’s aim is to increase the exposure and popularity of these wines here on the island. That said, the wine is already popular in the United Kingdom and Japan, and for the first time, it is now being exported to the United States.
Atlantis wines are available in all the major supermarkets on the island.
