In light of the Mozambique disaster, the Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome na Madeira, Cáritas Diocesana do Funchal, and the Delegação da Madeira da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa have organised the ‘Madeira and Porto Santo: Together for Mozambique’ campaign which will run until the 7th of April. The organisations have set up collection centres throughout Madeira and ask for donations of food, hygiene products, clothing as well as inviting people to volunteer.
The collection centres are situated at Centromar (former Continente supermarket), from 9 am to 9 pm, Pharmacy Funchal (La Vie Shopping Centre), from 9 am to midnight, Madeira Pharmacy (Madeira Shopping Centre) from 9 am to 10 pm, and the Casa do Povo’s of Ponta Delgada (São Vicente), Porto Moniz, Santa Cruz and São Roque do Faial (Santana). Those wanting to donate food and clothing in Porto Santo can do so at the Lar de Nossa Senhora da Piedade.
