The Regional Health Service has announced that it has administered 36,957 flu vaccinations between the 15th of October 2018 and the 15th of March 2019. The data shows that 76.4% of the injections were administrated through the regions Health Centres and that 95.8% of all vaccines administrated, were performed free of charge. SESARAM has also stated that 22,790 of the people who had the flu shot were over the age of 65.
At a national level, the ‘ Vaccinometer ‘ report published last week, shows that 1.3 million people throughout Portugal were vaccinated against flu during 2018/2019. This represents a four per cent increase on the previous year’s figure, in which 62% of over 65-year olds opted for the flu jab.
